The deadline is now over! Thank you for your
submissions.
Here's what to expect next...
The jury committee will be meeting to begin listening to all the
music submitted and will draft a final list of all artists and
their music based on the judging scores. The highest scores on the
list that will make the compilation will be contacted and notified
that their music has been accepted to the compilation. If in any
case that an artist declines or qualifications are not met, the
next artist(s) on the list will be notified.
All artists accepted into the comp will be asked to provide a CD
quality version of the track and agree to license their music for
the release. Because this project is intended to help promote the
chicago music scene and artists, it is understood that this release
is not intended for profit. All artists who have been accepted and
who have volunteered to perform in the past to help raise funds for
the comp will be given limited amounts of the cd compilation and
will be based on the total number of units produced. If you are
interested in being a part of the selection or production
committee, contact Je at je@bagwiscollective.org.
Good Luck and Thanks for all the contributions!
UPDATE: DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JANUARY 19, 2009
In 2008 the Chicago Pinoy Music Scene community set out to do
something very ambitious at the time -- Create a CD music
compilation and festival funded and produced by themselves.
After a series of fund-raising events, the community raised close
to $3,000 for this purpose and is preparing to release not just
one, but two CDs as volume 1 & 2 of the first ever Chicago
Pinoy Music Scene Compilation.
Now we need you to continue to help build this community by
participating in events, attend production meetings and most
importantly, submit your music!
Here are the guidelines:
note : This CD compilation is OPEN to ALL genres of MUSIC ...
1.You must be from the Chicago-land area (City, suburbs and
surrounding area)
2. ALL songs submitted MUST be ORIGINAL and (preferably) MASTERED
if possible. If you need help with mastering your music, please
contact us and we can find someone who can help you out.
3. There must be at least 1 Filipino in the band and IS a
contributing songwriter
4. Bands are to submit 2 of their BEST songs but only 1 will be
chosen for the compilation.
5. Maximum of approximately 6 minutes per song.
6. Judging will be based on the totality of the song ( originality,
lyrics etc, but will not be judge based on genre)
7. Each band is responsible for the copyright of their songs, but
will agree to license the copyright of their music for CPMS to
realease in the compilation.
8. Lyrics MUST be provided. Although we encourage you to express
yourselves as artist and writers, CPMS does not promote Hate and
Divisiveness.
9. Preliminary music submitted for judging should be in mp3 format.
We will contact you after judging if your music has been chosen and
will ask for a higher quality file for production. Contact
