Who are your favorite vocalists? Please list your Top 5 Male AND Female(in no particular order of awesomeness) all time favorite vocalists and WHY?

Let's get this group going with your lists of top 5 vocalists and why...I'll start:

Male:
1. Andrea Bocelli- The blind tenor from Italy that has made an impact with his not-so-typical classical/opera voice. Brotha man has a distinct calmness and serenity to his tone.
2. Geoff Tate- Lead vocalist of the band Queensryche...this dude has great range, power, and clarity to his melodic rocker voice.
3. James Labrie- Vocalist of Dream Theater. Awesome range, can compose melodies over the craziest riffs DT's got to offer, and has great inflections.
4. Adam Pascal- Great soulful voice. Not the typical pop rock voice you'd hear nowadays. Nice manly voice unlike many "weiner-sounding" vocalists out there. He sings from the heart and soul.Member of the OBC of Jonathan Larson's RENT.
5. Josh Groban- This guy has awesome tone and has a good grasp of how to sing foreign language songs. He's one of the few I've found to have crisp and clear high notes.

Female:
1. Norah Jones- great bluesy, jazzy, and soulful voice. Her sound is so distinct and so calming.
2. Tori Amos- Weird works for this one. She has so many ways of experimenting with melodies! Her chord proggressions are so unpredictable that you wouldnt think that her melodies would fit. Awesome pianist as well.
3. Sarah Brightman- She sounds very eerie with her newer albums. So frickin cool if she collaborated with a metal band! nice tone and very etherial, new age sounding.
4. Sarah McLaughlin- Great voice live and in the studio. Awesome songwriter and very soulful and melodic.
5. Amy Lee- Voice of Evanescence. Classically trained and in metal! How awesome is that! great range and she kicks ass in concert!

OK your turn...
