Ok, what i'd like to know is: How do you all warm up before band practice or gigs? let's exchange tricks so we can learn from each other...

I usually do stretches with my arms, fingers, neck and joints. It just seems to relax my playing before band practice or live shows. My left hand guitar warm ups are usually scales (especially chromatic progressions, sweep-picking, and string skipping exercises). My right hand warm ups are usually sweep-picking, alternate picking, string-skipping, and odd-timing strumming exercises. And the funny thing is...nowadays i do a lot of my warm-ups in the car with the steering wheel.hehe(usually when i'm im driving into chicago for band practice) . I also often practice scales in my head, or improvise solos and melodies from songs that i hear on the radio and try to play it as soon as i get a hold of a guitar. And yes, I am a guitar-freak!lol....ok your turn...

Don't listen to phil! he's a humble, mild mannered, down-to-earth GUITAR GOD!!! he will teach you the finer techniques of tapping a van halen song while drinking some coke! I am not a masta...but i will teach for adobo and pancit!! lol

Kidding aside, you're in a band so you probably are already awesome!

Damn!!! I missed all the jamming yesterday at mike's basement! I was at mike's house yesterday, but i had the fever. I heard a little of it though. I heard you guys playing "Crazy Train" by Ozzy, after that I slept cuz i was too weak. I wanted to go down though! But Mike told me about it. Mike told me ang galing mo daw Mark V. And that you also like Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine songs!!! I love those bands too! I wanna hear you guys play someday!!! When? hehehehe....

mga tol kumusta na, mostly pag nag warm ako,gig or sa bahay na praktis, i do a lil massage, my forearms loosen my wrist and my fingers, and apply my 1st secret weapon, winter green mint alcohol, after that i feel my fingers feelin sooooo relaxed,my next step is warm up my fingers with my second secret weapon, the chinese medecinal balls for 15 minutes,. then ok na ako to play my guitar, sa mga warm ups naman sa guitara, i do a lil major extended scales covering all frets up and down , and i pick evry single note, slow to fast, then i go to legato,, eto yung kadalasan na warm up routine ko sa gig o pag nag praktis ako
