What up everybody? My band 72Hours is a member of this collective of nine of Chicago's best local bands called the Chicago Noise Machine. I am posting this as a representative for the Chicago Noise Machine. We are hosting an all day, independent arts & music festival at Congress Theater on June 6th called the I AM Fest, and we're conducting a battle of the bands to fill the opening slot! ----------HERE'S THE FORM----------
The Chicago Noise Machine I AM FEST is the largest INDEPENDENT ARTS&MUSIC FESTIVAL in the City. It will host 25 bands on 2 stages at the historic CONGRESS THEATER on SAT JUNE 6th, 2009. There is just one thing missing... the MAIN STAGE OPENING BAND FOR THE SHOW and THAT COULD BE YOU!

There will be 3 Battle of the Band contests held at the Elbo Room. Bands will be provided with a basic backline (Guitar/Bass Cabs minus heads and Basic drum set and hardware minus kick pedal, snare drum, throne and cymbals). 20 min sets for each band will be judged by a panel of Chicago Noise Machine members, voted on by fans in attendance and tallied for the number of people watching the LIVE VIDEO STREAM of the show per band thanks to SYNC LIVE.

This unique BATTLE OF THE BANDS looks for talented musicians that put on a great show and can win over an audience in person and LIVE online. The top band from each night advances to the FINALS on FRIDAY MAY 15th along with 1 wild-card band (which will be the top of all three second place bands for all of the nights). The winner of the FINALS OPENS The Chicago Noise Machine I AM FEST at Congress Theater on the MAIN STAGE.

First, I wanna say thanks to Roxin for sending out an alert on this opportunity! It's greatly appreciated! UNFORTUNATELY, all the spots for the battle are already filled and we're having a confirmation meeting with all the bands at the Elbo Room this evening...

I will say that these battle of the bands shows, as well as the Congress Theater show, itself, are all great promotional opportunities! Come by and promote with demo cd's or flyers for your shows. I'd even be willing to help with anyone that wants to promote!
